Student Voices: What Does it Mean to be College and Career Ready? [MUSIC PLAYING] Sammy (High School Junior): College ready means that you have the skills for getting your work done. You have the motivation to get your work done. You have the motivation to do your best in everything. Dimitri (High School Senior): Through my guidance counselors and everything, they helped me pick a good path to continue my progress into the future and to a working career. Jessica (College Freshman): I really feel, you know, when I graduate that I'm going to be able to be well-placed in a job that I'll really like. They're giving me the skill sets that I need. They're totally up to date on all kinds of technology and the new media that's out there. Samara (High School Junior): I think college ready means you have an idea of what you want to do. To be college ready, you have to have motivation. Madison (High School Senior): Well, I think you need to have work experience in addition to being ready. Because there's a lot of people who are really educated, and they end up with not very good jobs. Danika (Recent Graduate): I feel more than ready to go to college. Rachel (Recent Graduate): I'm so excited. Yeah. I'm prepared. I'm ready. Jelani (Recent Graduate): More excited than anxious. Anxious to go to college. Kayla (High School Junior): I take AP classes because I'm excited for college. Khaleel (High School Senior): I feel not so much career ready, but that's why I'm looking forward to college. And I can't wait to go more in depth in my field.
